URGENT: Deputy Minister Widjajono in critical condition after hiking Mt Tambora

Deputy Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources Widjajono Partowidagdo collapsed into critical condition as he was hiking Mt Tambora on the island of Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara province, a source at the volcanology unit of the energy ministry told Petromindo.Com.

?He was hiking (the mountain) and got tired. We are giving him an emergency aid. May God help us,? The Head of the Centre for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation at the energy ministry, Surono, told Petromindo.Com.

The deputy ministry?s team has informed Newmont, which operates in the nearby area, to get immediate medical treatment.

Surono said they are now trying the best they can to provide emergency medical treatment to Widjajono.
