URGENT: Deputy Minister Widjajono passes away

Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Widjajono Partowidagdo has passed away after collapsing into a critical condition earlier today as he was hiking Mount Tambora on the island of Sumbawa,

Abdurahman Bima, a politician of the Democratic Party in West Nusa Tenggara has confirmed the death of Widjajono.

Earlier it has been reported that the ministry's staff had done their best to expedite evacuation in efforts to provide immediate emergency medical treatment.
