US provides energy reform fund to Indonesia

The U.S. Government and Government of Indonesia on Wednesday signed an agreement that will provide an additional $1 million in U.S. assistance to support Indonesia?s energy sector reform process, bringing the total for the multi-year bilateral program aimed at strengthening energy sector governance to more than $8 million.  
Funded through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the assistance will continue to carry out USAID?s commitment to help Indonesia reform its energy sector, increase access to energy services, support economic development, help sustain Indonesia?s natural resource base, and improve the quality of life of the people of Indonesia.
The agreement was signed by the William Frej, Mission Director, USAID/Indonesia, and Luluk Sumiarso, Secretary General, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.(alex)
