US based company Chart Industries, Inc. announced Friday that its Energy and Chemicals Group is shipping two trains of brazed aluminum heat exchangers for the ConocoPhillips Indonesia Belanak Project offshore West Natuna.

The company said it was the very first application of brazed aluminum heat exchangers on a floating production, storage & offloading vessel ("FPSO"). This FPSO, the Natuna Belanak, is at the heart of the Belanak project and will process the oil and natural gas on site in the South Natuna Sea.

John T. Romain, President of the Energy and Chemicals Group, stated, "This application is extremely demanding as the mounting platform is floating, therefore, the exchangers had to be designed for 30 years of operation, the fatigue action of the vessel and to withstand a 100-year storm along with extreme process requirements including mercury tolerance, high pressure, and the ``normal' natural gas process requirements."
