Coal mining company PT Usaha Baratama Jaya (UBJ) plans to produce 1.9 million tons of coal in 2016, a 26.6 percent increase from 1.5 million tons in 2015. Currently, UBJ, an IUP mining permit holder, is producing coal from its concession in Sungai Danau, South Kalimantan.

?Usaha Baratama Jaya will produce up to 1.9 million metric tons of coal in 2016,? UBJ?s Managing Director Candra Hoksun said to Petromindo.com. UBJ produces coal with calorific value of 4,300 kcal/kg (GAR).

The company also owns two other coal mines in South Kalimantan and East Kalimantan. The two mines cover about 1,200 hectares of concession area and are estimated to contain coal reserves with calorific value 5,000 kcal/kg (GAR), higher than the current producing mine.
