USTDA to promote business opportunities in RI?s energy and mining sectors

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is sponsoring a series of U.S. business briefings to highlight over US$22 billion in infrastructure development opportunities in Indonesia?s energy and mining, telecommunications, transportation, water and sanitation sectors.

The event, which is being held in cooperation of with the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, will bring ten Indonesian officials to the U.S. from Sept. 24 to Oct 3, 2005 to meet with U.S. private sector and government officials as they pursue implementation of Indonesia?s infrastructure priorities.

USTDA said in its press release that during their visit, the delegation will travel to Los Angeles, California; Chicago, Illinois; Washington DC; Houston, Texas. Business briefings with specific sector focuses will be held in each city between Sept. 26 to Oct. 3.

The mission supports the strategy of Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to make infrastructure development a pillar of the country?s five-year economic development plan.(*)
