UT coal production reaches 1,1MT as of February

Indonesia-listed heavy-equipment distributor and coal mining firm PT United Tractors (UT) Tbk reported Tuesday that coal production during February period reached 625,000 tones from its two coal mines PT Dasa Eka Jasatama (DEJ) and PT Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA).

Of the total 625,000 tonnes, PMM contributed 336,000 tones, and the remaining 289,000 tones came from TTA mine.

TTA mine started first coal production at the end of 2010.

As of July, cumulative coal production from UT reached 1.11 million tonnes, almost double compared to the same period last year of 633.000 tones.

Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara produced 7.1 million tones in February, up from 6.3 million in the same period of last year. Pama?s overburden also increased to 63.5 million BCM from 54.9 million bcm in February 2011.

UT sold a total of 1,386 units of Komatsu heavy equipment as of February of the year, jump from 1,418 units in the same period of last year. Of the 1,386 units sold as of February, 911 units were sold to the mining sector
