UT coal production reaches 2.55 MT as of July

IDX-listed heavy-equipment distributor and coal mining firm PT United Tractors (UT) Tbk reported Friday that coal production during July period reached 353,000 tonnes from its two coal mines PT Dasa Eka Jasatama (DEJ) and PT Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA).

Of the total 353,000 tonnes, DEJ contributed 310,000 tonnes, and the remaining 43,000 tonnes came from TTA mine.

TTA mine started first coal production at the end of 2010.

As of July, cumulative coal production from UT reached 2.55 million tonnes, almost double compared to the same period last year of 1.50 million tonnes.

Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara produced 8 million tonnes in July, up from 6.3 million in the same period of last year. Pama?s overburden also increased to 76.7 million BCM from 53.7 million bcm in July 2010.

UT sold a total of 5,061 units of Komatsu heavy equipment as of July of the year, jump from 3,200 units in the same period of last year. Of the 5,061 units sold as of July, 3,436 units were sold to the mining sector. (denny)
