UT coal production reaches 3.2 MT as of September

Indonesia-listed heavy-equipment distributor and coal mining firm PT United Tractors (UT) Tbk reported Thursday that coal production during September period reached 298,000 tonnes from its two coal mines PT Prima Multi Mineral (PMM), formerly PT Dasa Eka Jasatama (DEJ) and PT Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA).

Of the total 298,000 tonnes, PMM contributed 283,000 tonnes, and the remaining 15,000 tonnes came from TTA mine.

TTA mine started first coal production at the end of 2010.

As of September, cumulative coal production from UT reached 3.21 million tonnes, higher compared to the same period last year of 1.97 million tonnes.

Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara (Pama) produced 7.5 million tonnes in September, up from 6.1 million in the same period of last year. Pama?s overburden also increased to 69.1 million BCM from 53.7 million bcm in September 2010.

UT sold a total of 6,406 units of Komatsu heavy equipment as of September of the year, jump from 4,114 units in the same period of last year. Of the 6,406 units sold as of September, 4,337 units were sold to the mining sector. (denny)
