UT coal production reaches 4.4 MT as of December

IDX-listed heavy equipment distributor and coal mining firm PT United Tractors (UT) Tbk reported Friday that its coal production during December 2011 period reached 500,000 tons from its two coal mines PT Prima Multi Mineral (PMM), formerly PT Dasa Eka Jasatama (DEJ) and PT Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA).

Of the total 500,000 tonnes, PMM contributed 327,000 tons, and the remaining 173,000 tons came from TTA mine.

TTA mine started its first coal production at the end of 2010.

As of December, cumulative coal production from UT reached 4.48 million tons, higher compared to the same period last year of 3.05 million tons.

Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara (Pama) produced 7.6 million tons in December, up from 7.1 million in the same period of last year. Pama?s overburden also increased to 63.0 million bcm from 55.6 million bcm in December 2010.

UT sold a total of 8,467 units of Komatsu heavy equipment as of December of the year, a jump from 5,404 units in the same period of last year. Of the 8,467 units sold as of December, 5,703 units were sold to the mining sector.
