UT coal production reaches 494,000 tons as of January

Indonesian-listed heavy equipment distributor and coal mining firm PT United Tractors (UT) Tbk reported Wednesday that its coal production during January 2012 period reached 494,000 tons from its two coal mines PT Prima Multi Mineral (PMM), formerly PT Dasa Eka Jasatama (DEJ) and PT Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA).

The year to date production figure is higher compared to the same period last year of 307,000 tons .

Of the total 494,000 tons, PMM contributed 294,000 tons, and the remaining 200,000 tons came from TTA mine.

TTA mine started its first coal production at the end of 2010.

Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara (Pama) produced 6.3 million tons in January, unchanged from corresponding period of last year, while overburden removal increased to 60.4 million bcm from 55.7 million bcm in January 2011.

UT sold a total of 617 units of Komatsu heavy equipment in January last month, lower than 731 units in corresponding period last year which overall saw 8,467 units sold. Of the 617 units sold in January, 408 units were sold to the mining sector.
