UT coal sales over 1.9MT as of April

Indonesia-listed heavy-equipment distributor and coal mining firm PT United Tractors (UT) Tbk reported Tuesday that coal sales during April period reached 425,000 tons from its two coal mines, Prima Multi Mineral (PMM) contributing 117,000 tons, and Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA) 308,000 tons.

TTA mine started first coal production at the end of 2010.

As of April, cumulative coal sales for the quarter reached 1.96 million tons, substantially increased compared to the same period in 2011 of 1.42 million tons.

Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara produced 7.8 million tons in April, up from 6.1 million tons in the same month of 2011. Pama?s overburden also increased to 71.4 million bcm compared to 59.5 million bcm in April 2011.

UT sold a total of 2,956 units of Komatsu heavy equipment for the quarter ending April of the year, a jump from 2,974 units in the same period of last year. Of the 2,956 units sold as of April, 1,809 units were sold to the mining sector
