Central Kalimantan coal miner PT Telen Orbit Prima, an indirect coal subsidiary of IDX-listed heavy equipment and mining company PT United Tractors Tbk, plans to double coal production next year to around 2 million tons.
This was said recently by Frans Kusuma, Director of Mining and Energy at UT, to Petromindo.com, but did not provide further details.
As has been previously reported, Telen has set a coal production target this year of 1 million tons, but the company may only be able to sell about 300,000 tons as the company has ?to adjust to the river current condition.?
UT through subsidiary PT Pama Persada owns Telen, which resumed coal production in June of this year at its mine in Kapuas Regency after having been suspended since 2015 due to the weak oil price environment.
