UT H1 coal production jumps

IDX-listed heavy-equipment distributor and coal mining firm PT United Tractors (UT) Tbk reported Monday that coal production during June period reached 415,000 tonnes from its two coal mines in PT Dasa Eka Jasatama (DEJ) and PT Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA).

Of the total 415,000 tonnes, DEJ contributed 288,000 tonnes, and the remaining 127,000 tonnes came from TTA mine.

TTA mine started first coal production in the end of 2010.

As of June, cumulative coal production from UT reached 2.2 million tonnes, almost double compared to the same period last year of 1.28 million tonnes.

Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara produced 7.5 million tonnes in June, up from 6.3 million in the same period of last year. Pama?s overburden also increased to 70.7 million BCM from 53.8 million bcm in June 2010.

UT sold a total of 4,333 units of Komatsu heavy equipment as of June of the year, which is quite a jump from 2,732 in the same period of last year. Of the 4,333 units sold as of June, 2,949 units were sold to the mining sector. (denny)
