UT: January performance report

Indonesia-listed heavy-equipment distributor and coal mining firm PT United Tractors (UT) Tbk reported Tuesday that coal sales during January period reached 434,000 tons from its two coal mines, Prima Multi Mineral (PMM) which contributed 220,000 tons, and Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA) 214,000 tons.

TTA mine started its first coal production at the end of 2011.

As of January, cumulative coal sales for the quarter reached 434,000 tons, substantially down compared to 494,000 tons for the same period in 2012.

Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara produced 8.6 million tons in January, up from 6.3 million tons in the same period of 2012. Pama?s overburden removal was 65.8 million bcm compared to 59.5 million bcm up to January in 2012.

UT sold a total of 409 units of Komatsu heavy equipment in January last month, lower than 617 units in the same period of last year. Of the 409 units sold in January, 188 units were sold to the mining sector.
