UT reports 51% jump in coal sales volume

IDX-listed heavy equipment company PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) said that coal sales volume as of July of this year reached 3,723 million tons, or a 51 percent jump compared to 2,460 million tons in the same seven-month period of last year.
UT operates four coal producing mines including Prima Multi Mineral (PMM) and Asmin Bara Bronang (ABB), both of which located in South Kalimantan, and Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA ) and Duta Nurcahya (DN), which are located in Central Kalimantan.
PMM and Asmin accounted for 1,861 million tons of the seven-month sales volume, while the remainder 1,862 contributed by TTA and DN. Asmin and DN started production at the end of last year, UT said in a presentation material seen Friday.
Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor subsidiary PT Pamapersada Nusantara reported that coal production and hauling during the seven-month period of this year grew by 16 percent to 68.9 million tons from 59.4 million tons in the corresponding period of last year.
Overburden removal, however, declined by 6 percent to 461.4 million bcm from 489.4 bcm in the same period of last year.
