UT reports higher coal sales volume in December

IDX-listed heavy equipment distributor PT United Tractors (UT) Tbk, which also owns coal mines, reported recently that coal sales volume in December reached 550,000 tons, compared to 270,000 tons in in the same month of December 2012.
The coals are produced from its four mines including Prima Multi Mineral (PMM), Asmin, Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA), and Duta Nurcahya (DN).
The PMM and Asmin concessions, which are located in South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan, respectively, accounted for a combined 281,000 tons of the coal sales volume, while TTA and DN 269,000 tons. TTA and DN mines, are located in Central Kalimantan. Asmin and DN started its first coal production at the end of 2013.
UT?s total coal output last year dropped to 4,183,000 tons from 5,627,000 tons in 2012.
Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara produced 8.2 million tons in December, down compared to 8.6 million tons in the same period of 2012. Pama?s overburden removal was 60.5 million bcm, down compared to 68.3 million bcm in December 2012.
UT sold a total of 4,203 units of Komatsu heavy equipment in December, substantially lower than 6,202 units in the same period of last year. Of the 4,203 units sold in December, 1,807 units were sold to the mining sector.
