UT reports higher coal sales volume in February

IDX-listed heavy equipment distributor PT United Tractors (UT) Tbk, which also owns coal mines, reported recently that coal sales volume in February reached 399,000 tons, compared to 270,000 tons in the same month of last year.

The coals were produced from its four mines including Prima Multi Mineral (PMM), Asmin, Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA), and Duta Nurcahya (DN).

The PMM and Asmin concessions, which are located in South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan, respectively, accounted for a combined 185,000 tons of the coal sales volume, while TTA and DN 214,000 tons. TTA and DN mines, are located in Central Kalimantan. Asmin and DN started its first coal production at the end of 2013.

UT?s total coal output in the first two months of this year reached 1,223,000 tons, up compared to 845,000 tons in the same period in 2013.

Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara produced 9.6 million tons in February, up compared to 8.6 million tons in the same period of 2013. Pama?s overburden removal was 67.3 million bcm, down compared to 68.3 million bcm in February 2013.

UT sold a total of 877 units of Komatsu heavy equipment in February, up from 821 units in the same period of last year. Of the 877 units sold in February, 315 units were sold to the mining sector.
