UT reports higher coal sales volume in October

IDX-listed heavy equipment distributor PT United Tractors (UT) Tbk, which also owns coal mines, reported Monday that coal sales volume in October reached 404,000 tons from its two coal mines, Prima Multi Mineral (PMM) and Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA), slightly higher from 372,000 tons in the same month of last year.
The PMM concession, which is located in South Kalimantan, accounted for 167,000 tons of the coal sales volume, while TTA 237,000 tons. TTA mine, located in Central Kalimantan, started its first coal production at the end of 2011.
UT?s total coal output in the first nine months of this year reached 3,289,000 tons, substantially down compared to 4,904,000 tons in the same period in 2012.
Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara produced 9.3 million tons in October, up compared to 8.5 million tons in the same period of 2012. Pama?s overburden removal was 87.8 million bcm, up compared to 77.2 million bcm in October 2012.
UT sold a total of 3,705 units of Komatsu heavy equipment in October, substantially lower than 5,704 units in the same period of last year. Of the 3,705 units sold in October, 1,593 units were sold to the mining sector.
