UT reports lower August coal sales volume

IDX-listed heavy equipment distributor PT United Tractors (UT) Tbk, which also owns coal mines, reported Wednesday that coal sales volume in August reached 159,000 tons from its two coal mines, Prima Multi Mineral (PMM) and Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA), a significant drop from 615,000 tons in the same month of last year.

The PMM concession, which is located in South Kalimantan, accounted for 60,000 tons of the coal sales volume, while TTA 99,000 tons. TTA mine, located in Central Kalimantan, started its first coal production at the end of 2011.

UT?s total coal output in the first eight months of this year reached 2,619,000 tons, substantially down compared to 4,151,000 tons in the same period in 2012.

Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara produced 9.2 million tons in August, up compared to 7.6 million tons in the same period of 2012. Pama?s overburden removal was 72.9 million bcm, down compared to 73.8 million bcm in August 2012.

UT sold a total of 2,981 units of Komatsu heavy equipment in August, substantially lower than 5,035 units in the same period of last year. Of the 2,981 units sold in August, 1,341 units were sold to the mining sector.
