UT reports lower July coal sales volume

IDX-listed heavy equipment distributor and coal mining firm PT United Tractors (UT) Tbk reported Wednesday that coal sales volume in July reached 177,000 tons from its two coal mines, Prima Multi Mineral (PMM) and Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA), a significant drop from 441,000 tons in the same month of last year.

PMM accounted for 15,000 tons of the coal sales volume, while TTA 162,000 tons.

TTA mine started its first coal production at the end of 2011. UT?s total coal output in the first seven months of this year reached 2,460,000 tons, substantially down compared to 3,562,000 tons in the same period in 2012.

Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara produced 9.1 million tons in July, up compared to 7.9 million tons in the same period of 2012. Pama?s overburden removal was 72.8 million bcm, up compared to 71.1 million bcm in June 2012.

UT sold a total of 2,770 units of Komatsu heavy equipment in July, substantially lower than 4,633 units in the same period of last year. Of the 2,770 units sold in July, 1,301 units were sold to the mining sector.
