UT reports lower September coal sales volume

IDX-listed heavy equipment distributor PT United Tractors (UT) Tbk, which also owns coal mines, reported Monday that coal sales volume in September reached 265,000 tons from its two coal mines, Prima Multi Mineral (PMM) and Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA), a significant drop from 377,000 tons in the same month of last year.

The PMM concession, which is located in South Kalimantan, accounted for 113,000 tons of the coal sales volume, while TTA 152,000 tons. TTA mine, located in Central Kalimantan, started its first coal production at the end of 2011.

UT?s total coal output in the first nine months of this year reached 2,884,000 tons, substantially down compared to 4,540,000 tons in the same period in 2012.

Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara produced 9.5 million tons in September, up compared to 8.7 million tons in the same period of 2012. Pama?s overburden removal was 75.4 million bcm, down compared to 82.0 million bcm in September 2012.

UT sold a total of 3,303 units of Komatsu heavy equipment in September, substantially lower than 5,455 units in the same period of last year. Of the 3,303 units sold in September, 1,420 units were sold to the mining sector.
