UT?s 2014 coal output jumps 42%

IDX-listed heavy equipment company PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) has recently reported that total coal output last year increased by 42 percent to 5,938,000 tons compared to 4,176,000 tons in 2013.

Coal sales volume in December of last year reached 729,000 tons, or a 34 percent jump compared to 543,000 tons in the month of the previous year.

The coals were produced from its four mines including Prima Multi Mineral (PMM), Asmin, Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA), and Duta Nurcahya (DN).

The PMM and Asmin concessions, which are located in South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan, accounted for a combined 443,000 tons of the December coal sales volume, while TTA and DN 286,000 tons. TTA and DN mines, are located in Central Kalimantan. Asmin and DN started its first coal production at the end of 2013.

Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara produced 9.9 million tons of coal in December, up compared to 59.8 million tons in the same period of 2013. Pama?s overburden removal was 60.3 million bcm, up compared to 59.8 million bcm in December 2013.

UT sold a total of 3,513 units of Komatsu heavy equipment in December, down from 4,203 units in the same period of last year. Of the 3,503 units sold in December, 1,229 units were sold to the mining sector.
