UT?s DEJ coal sales down in October

JSX-listed heavy equipments distributor PT. United Tractors (UT) reported on Tuesday that its South Kalimantan coal mining unit PT.Dasa Eka Jasatama sold 259,000 tonnes of coal in October, falling sharply compared to previous month?s sales of 322,000 tonnes.

The company did not give detail about the sales decline.

DEJ?s cumulative sales until October had reached 2.8 million tonnes.

UT, which completed acquisition DEJ in January 2007, expects production for this year to be around 3 million tonnes.

DEJ?s coal production are sold to Noble Group and Glencore AG through UT?s coal trading arm British Virgin Island-based Scenic Worldwide Ltd. under term contracts. (denny)
