UT?s October coal sales volume drops more than 15%

IDX-listed heavy equipment and coal mining company PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) reported that coal sales volume in October of this year reached 209,000 tons, or a 15.72 percent drop compared to 248,000 tons in the same month of last year.

UT said in a statement recently that its total coal output in the first nine months of this year was down by 12 percent to 4,155,000 tons from 4,762,000 tons in the same period in 2014.

The company operates four coal mines including Prima Multi Mineral (PMM) in South Kalimantan, and Asmin, Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA), and Duta Nurcahya (DN) located in Central Kalimantan.

Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara produced 8.5 million tons of coal in October, down compared to 9.6 million tons in the same month of 2014. Pama?s overburden removal was 63.2million bcm, down compared to 69.5 million bcm in October 2014.

UT sold a total of 1,870 units of Komatsu heavy equipment in October, down from 3,233 units in the same period of last year. Of the 1,870 units sold in October, 523 units were sold to the mining sector.
