UT?s reports increased coal sales in April

IDX-listed heavy-equipment distributor and coal mining firm PT United Tractors (UT) Tbk reported Tuesday that coal sales during April period reached 325,000 tons from its two coal mines, Prima Multi Mineral (PMM) which contributed 109,000 tons, and Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA) 216,000 tons.
TTA mine started its first coal production at the end of 2011.
As of April, cumulative coal sales for the quarter reached 1,495,000 tons, substantially down compared to 1,953,000 tons for the same period in 2012.
Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara produced 8.0 million tons in April, up from 7.8 million tons in the same period of 2012. Pama?s overburden removal was 67.1 million bcm compared to 69.8 million bcm in April 2012.
UT sold a total of 1,725 units of Komatsu heavy equipment in April last month, lower than 2,956 units in the same period of last year. Of the 1,725 units sold in April, 897 units were sold to the mining sector.
