UT?s reports increased coal sales in February

Indonesia-listed heavy-equipment distributor and coal mining firm PT United Tractors (UT) Tbk reported Monday that coal sales during February period reached 411,000 tons from its two coal mines, Prima Multi Mineral (PMM) which contributed 169,000 tons, and Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA) 242,000 tons.

TTA mine started its first coal production at the end of 2011.

As of February, cumulative coal sales for the quarter reached 845,000 tons, substantially down compared to 1,119,000 tons for the same period in 2012.

Meanwhile, UT?s mining contractor unit PT Pamapersada Nusantara produced 7.5 million tons in February, up from 7.1 million tons in the same period of 2012. Pama?s overburden removal was 60.9 million bcm compared to 62.4 million bcm in February 2012.

UT sold a total of 821 units of Komatsu heavy equipment in February last month, lower than 1,386 units in the same period of last year. Of the 821 units sold in February, 402 units were sold to the mining sector.
