UT?s unit sells 1.80 million tons of coal

Indonesian listed heavy equipment company PT United Tractors (UT) said on Monday its South Kalimantan coal miner PT Dasa Eka Jasatama sold a total of 1,809,000 tons of coal in the nine-month period ending September of this year, an increase from 1,807,000 tons in the same period of last year.

UT has subsidiaries involved in providing mining contracting service and selling heavy equipment.

Meanwhile, its mining contractor subsidiary, PT Pamapersada, produced a total of 56.8 million tons of coal in the January-September 2010 period, up from 48.5 million tons in the same period of last year. Its overburden production rose to 480.2 million bcm, from 435.5 million bcm.

The firm sold a total of 4,114 units of Komatsu heavy equipment in the first nine months of the year, up from 2,237 units in the same period of last year. (kanti)
