UT?s unit sold 1.59 MT of coal until August

Indonesian listed firm heavy PT United Tractors (UT) said on Friday its South Kalimantan coal miner PT Dasa Eka Jasatama sold a total of 1,598,000 tons of coal in eight month period until August this year, slightly down from 1,603,000 tons in the same period of last year.

UT has also subsidiries involved in providing mining contracting service and selling heavy equipment.

Menwhile, its mining contractor subsidiary, PT Pamapersada, produced a total of 50.8 million of coal in the January-August 2010 period, up from 42.4 million in the same period of last year. Its overburden production rose to 426.4 million bcm, from 381.6 million bcm.

The firm sold a total of 3,653 units of Komatsu heavy equipment in the first eight months of the year, up from 2,014 units in the same period of last year. (Kanti)
