UT sets 2014 production target at 6 million tons

PT United Tractors is targeting coal production to reach 6 million tons next year, which would be over 42 percent increase from this year's estimate of 4.2 million tons.

"Strategies to reach that production target include keeping stripping ratio stable as well as efficiency in the utilization of heavy equipments," said Vice President Director Gidion Hasan in Jakarta on Thursday.

Gidion added that the production would come from 4 concessions in Central Kalimantan and South Kalimantan . In total, the company has 9 concessions, all located in Kalimantan .

About 60 percent of next year's production will be exported to Japan , Gidion.

On the heavy equipment business, Gidion said the company has set the sale target for next year at 4,500 units, from this year's estimated 4,200 units.
