Central Kalimantan coal mining firm PT Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA), a subsidiary of IDX-listed heavy equipment and coal mining company PT United Tractors Tbk (UT), has set production target of 4.6 million tons for this year, slightly lower than last year?s 4 million tons.

UT Corporate Secretary Ari Setyawan said that despite the lingering coal industry downturn, the company aims to continue production and to maintain performance.

He added that aside from the targeted own production of 4.6 million tons, TTA plans to purchase another 1.4 million tons from third parties. ?We set sales volume target of 6 million tons, comprising of own production of 4.6 million tons, and 1.4 million tons (to be) obtained via trading,? Ari told Petromindo.com Wednesday, adding that key markets remain Japan and South Korea.

?We don?t have plans to sell in the domestic market because our coal is of medium and high quality which is difficult to be marketed at home,? he said.
