Vale Indonesia gains Aditama environmental award

IDX-listed nickel producer PT Vale Indonesia Tbk has won the 2013 Aditama environmental award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The award was handed over to the company on November 29 by the Director of Technique and Environment at the Ministry, Bambang Susigit.
President Director of PT Vale, Nico Kanter welcome the award, saying that it was an acknowledgement by the government of the hard work of the company?s staff particularly with regards to environmental management at its mining operations.
The ministry conducts annual appraisal of environmental and safety performances of mining companies in Indonesia, giving three categories of award. Last year, PT Vale won environmental award for the silver category.
The company this month also won the Sustainable Business Award (SBA) from the Indonesian Business Council for Sustainable Division (IBSD) as the best company in terms of strategy and vision.
