Vale Indonesia reports slight decline in 3Q nickel output

IDX-listed integrated nickel mining firm PT Vale Indonesia Tbk said that nickel in matte production in the third quarter (3Q) of this year reached 21,744 tons, a slight 2 percent decline from output in the same period of last year.

The company, however, said that production in the third quarter was 12 percent higher than in the second quarter. ?Production in the third quarter of 2016 was higher than production in 2Q16 as per our business plan,? said Nico Kanter, CEO and President Director of PT Vale in a statement on Thursday. ?We remain optimistic of meeting our 2016 full year production target of approximately 80,000 t.?
