Vale Indonesia reports slightly higher 2Q output

IDX-listed PT Vale Indonesia Tbk announced Thursday that it produced 19,362 metric tons (t) of nickel in matte in the second quarter of 2016 (2Q), about 1 percent higher than the production volume in the corresponding period of last year.
The company said in a statement that the second quarter production volume was about 15 percent higher than the production volume realized in the first quarter.
?Production in the second quarter of 2016 was higher than production in the first quarter when planned maintenance activities were completed,? said Nico Kanter, CEO and President Director of PT Vale. ?We remain optimistic of meeting our 2016 full year production target of around 80,000 t.?
