Vale reports higher 2Q nickel production

IDX-listed integrated nickel mining firm PT Vale Indonesia Tbk said that it produced 20,107 metric tons (t) of nickel in matte in the second quarter of this year (2Q17), 4 percent higher than in the corresponding period of last year.
?Production in the second quarter of 2017 was higher than production in 1Q17 when planned maintenance activities were completed,? said Nico Kanter, CEO and President Director of PT Vale in a statement on Thursday. The second quarter 2017 volume was 17 percent higher than in the first quarter.
?On a year-on-year basis, production in the second quarter of 2017 was also higher than production in the second quarter of 2016. We are maintaining our 2017 full year production target of approximately 80,000 t,? he added
