Vale?s third quarter production down slightly

IDX-listed integrated nickel mining firm PT Vale Indonesia Tbk announced Thursday that it produced 20,163 metric tons (t) of nickel in matte in the third quarter of 2017 (3Q17), slightly lower compared to the output in the same period of last year, but higher than in the previous quarter.
?Production in the third quarter of 2017 was slightly higher than production in 2Q17,? said Nico Kanter, CEO and President Director of PT Vale, in a statement. ?Our production forecast for 2017 is now around 78,000 t, which is close to the actual production in 2016 of 77,581 t?
On a year-to-date basis, production up to the third quarter of 2017 was about 1 percent lower than production up to the third quarter of 2016.
