Veresen signs deal to supply LNG to Indonesia

Canadian energy infrastructure firm Veresen Inc. reported on Monday it has signed HoA to supply LNG from its proposed Cove LNG terminal in Oregon, USA to three customers including one with office location in Indonesia.

The company did not disclose the prospective customers? names but said that the other two have office locations in India, and an Eastern Asia country.

The volume of LNG capacity requested under each HOA either meets or exceeds a minimum 25% capacity threshold amount, under the initial six million metric tons per annum LNG development offering by Jordan Cove. The contract term under each agreement is proposed to be 25 years, with extension rights, the company said.

Veresen is planning to pipe 1 BCFD of gas from Canada through a proposed 234 mile, 36-inch diameter pipeline to Jordan Cove LNG project in the Oregon?s Port of Coos Bay, which, according to the company, offers a low cost shipping benefit for exporting LNG from North America to energy consuming markets throughout Asia Pacific, South America, Hawaii and Alaska.

The company did not say when the project is expected to be on stream.
