The Atang bin H. Santini family of the Padang Panjang village in South Kalimantan threatened to disrupt the coal transportation of coal mining giant PT Adaro by staging a demonstration near the coal road.
The Kapos daily reported that Atang planned to hold the demonstration in the front of his fish ponds located near the coal road.
The paper said that Atang and his family was demanding Adaro to immediately pay sufficient compensation for the pollution of the family's fish ponds by Adaro's coal transport activity.
Atang also planned to invite legislators and other local government institutions to see his family's demonstration.
Atang and Adaro had started negotiation, but the Atang family had been deeply disappointed by the low compensation offered by Adaro. (*)
