Villager burns 5 Caltex oilwells

The villagers of the Batang subdistrict Bangka, in Bengkalis, Riau, set up fire on five oilwell jointly operated by Caltex and state owned oil gas company Pertamina, on Monday, according to press statement issued by the ministry of energy and mineral resources.
The incident occurred because the villagers were not satisfied over land compensation deal.
The fire started on one in afternoon, the local authority tried to put off the fire but was fought by the villagers.
The five wells are as follows: well #26 burn at 13:40, #32 burn at 15:10, #44 burn at 15:30, #35 burn at 15:50, #49 burn at 16:00.
Source said five villagers had been detained by the local police. (*)
