Villagers block Indominco?s main entrance

Hundreds of villagers demanding land compensation blocked the main entrance at East Kalimantan coal mining firm PT Indominco Mandiri.
The villagers had blocked the entrance since Thursday, according to local daily Kaltim Post.
Indominco is unit of Thai energy conglomerate Banpu PCL through its IDX-listed subsidiary PT Indo Tambangraya Megah.
The company refused to comply with villagers demand, arguing that the land it used belonged Ministry of Forestry.
An official at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said that thus far the blockade has yet affected the company?s production activities. (godang)
