Crude oil transportation from Pertamina?s Bekasi oil wells in the Kedungjaya village in the Babelan district of Bekasi, West Java has returned to normal after protesting villagers ended their blockade at the entry point of the oil well, Kompas reported on Wednesday.

Endang Suhendar, Pertamina?s field supervisor at the oil well, said in Bekasi on Tuesday that the residents removed the blockade after the Bekasi government and Pertamina agreed to talk with the residents on Thursday.

Residents of Kedungjaya village in the Babelan district of Bekasi, West Java blocked the access road to Pertamina?s Babelan oil well on Monday to protest Pertamina?s refusal to repair the road, which has been seriously damaged due to the heavy traffics of company?s trucks.

Besides asking Pertamina to repair the damaged road, the residents also demanded the company to pay compensation for the noises caused by the heavy trucks and oil tankers when they passed the village. The residents blocked the road for more than 14 hours.

Endang said that Pertamina?s trucks had operated normally after the residents agreed to remove the blockade. (*)
