Virama to double coal trade volume this year

Coal trading company PT Virama Impex is eyeing to double coal trading volume to 5 million tons this year, from 2.3 million tons in 2016.

Rishi Sharda, Marketing Director of the company told Petromindo.com recently the company is targeting to double thet rading volume this year as the coal market has started to recover.

"We have a diversified markets such as India, China, Cambodia, Vietnam and Bangladesh, and most important thing the markets of India and China have started to be stable," he said, adding that the coal commodity will be mostly taken from South Kalimantan.

Rishi added that in the first quarter of this year the company was able to book around 1.3 million tons of coal trading volume. Meanwhile, in the same period of the previous year, it was only 600,000 tons.
