Vivo introduces LPG product

PT Vivo Energy Indonesia, which has just entered the country?s fuel oil retail business with the opening of its first fuel refill station in East Jakarta late in October, and is seeking to expand into the LPG retail business, held a soft-launch of its LPG product in Surabaya, East Java Province, on Thursday, Koran Tempo reported.

Vivo Indonesia Corporate Communications Manager, Maldi Al-Jufrie was quoted by the paper as saying that the company through subsidiary PT Sierra Nusa Gas will officially start marketing its LPG products under the brand name of Nusagaz in the first quarter of next year, with East Java as the first target market, followed by West Java.

He said that the company will first focus on selling the LPG products in Java considering the availability of required infrastructure facilities.

Maldi said that the LPG products will be sold in various cylinder volumes including 4.5 kg, 8 kg, 16 kg and 60 kg, and claim to have the most competitive price.

Vivo, a subsidiary of PT Nusantara Energy Plant Indonesia, plans to develop six to seven additional gasoline stations in the Greater Jakarta Area (Jabodetabek) until end of this year. The company also plans to open up three gasoline stations in Maluku. (*)
