Vivo plans to start LPG retail business next year

Fuel retailer PT Vivo Energy Indonesia, which has just entered the country?s fuel oil retail business with the opening of its first fuel refill station in East Jakarta late in October, plans to enter the LPG retail business next year.
Vivo Indonesia Corporate Communications Manager, Maldi Aljufrie was quoted by Antaranews.com as saying Friday that the company through subsidiary PT Sierra Nusa Gas plans to start selling LPG in East Java in the first quarter of 2018.
He said that the LPG will be sold in various cylinder volumes including 4.5 kg, 8 kg, 16 kg and 60 kg under the brand name of Nusagas.
The company will be competing with state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina which also sells LPG in different cylinder volumes.
Vivo, a subsidiary of PT Nusantara Energy Plant Indonesia, plans to develop six to seven additional gasoline stations in the Greater Jakarta Area (Jabodetabek) until end of this year. The company also plans to open up three gasoline stations in Maluku. (*)
