US-based Vanguard Mining Corporation (VNMC) announced Monday that it has appointed Jalani M. Haniffa as the new President and Hai H. Le as the new Chief Financial Officer (CEO) of the company, effective July 25, 2014.

Haniffa is a managing partner of PT. Cendrawasih International and PT. Kencana Persada, mining investment holding companies registered in Indonesia. He has been active in the Indonesian mining industry for 14 years beginning with extensive experience in a Central Indonesian government mining law office that provided him with excellent knowledge of provincial mining practices. In 2000 he began trading coal and was involved in mining iron ore in West Sumatera while developing and investing in the coal loading port in Samarinda, East Kalimantan. He has a degree in Hospitality Administration from Cornell University in New York. He is a member of the Les Clef d'Or, The Society of Golden Keys, Switzerland.

Haniffa has strong business working relationships with several foreign mining exploration companies. He helped establish the JORC standard for ongoing Cendrawasih gold and copper with ground anomaly surveys, satellite imagery, geophysical mapping and a short list of competent geologist assignments for next stage of drilling activities.

Hai Le has an MBA degree in International Banking and Finance with Distinction from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business and Management Studies with Distinction, from Hogeschool Zeeland, University of Applied Sciences of Zeeland, the Netherlands.

Hai has served in various management and financial capacities such as Operation Manager for Duy Anh Trading Co., Ltd, a member of Imex Pan Pacific Group, Associate Advisor for Viet A Joint Stock Company, Head of Investment at PHI Vietnam Holdings Ltd., Lecturer at Guildhall College, London, U.K., and Financial Analyst at Provimex-HTV Joint Venture Company, Vietnam.

VNMC announced last week that Mai Hoa Nguyen and Thang Thi Ha have resigned from their posts, respectively, as President and CEO.

VNMC is currently focused on executing its exploration and mining plans in Indonesia. The company announced in June that it has signed a business cooperation agreement with PT Raksasa Metal Agung, an Indonesian company, to start a joint operation of placer gold mining in sub-district Karang Tengah, Wonogiri, Central Java.

According to the agreement, VMC would be working with PT Raksasa to begin operation and production of gold and copper close to an ex-Dutch mining area that has high copper and gold contents, with some areas up to 27ppm. VNMC will share 60 percent of the net profits from operations expected to occur in the next three to four months.

The initial pilot project will be on a five-hectare area with a total allotment available of more than 1,500 hectares. PT Raksasa and VNMC plan to conduct the survey work and obtain licensing for the first phase of operation soon.
