W. Sumatra government told to revoke 26 non-C&C mining firms

The Padang State Administrative Court in West Sumatra ruled on Friday for the provincial administration to revoke 26 IUP mining business license companies in the province which have failed to meet the so-called clean and clear (C&C) criteria, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday.

The paper said that the provincial administration must revoke the IUP license of the miners within five days after the ruling, made following a lawsuit filed by the Padang Legal Aid Institution (LBH), an NGO.

The court says that according to Law No 23/2014, the provincial government holds the authority in revoking the license of non-C&C IUP mining firms.

The paper said that the affected mining firms include lead mining company Bina Bukti Pertiwi, rock quary mining firm Byantara Agrindo Sejahtera, base metal miner Data Con Indo Jaya, Dekky Karya Bestari, iron ore miner Dharma Power Bersama, gold miner Emas Bumi Persada, sand iron miner Galian Endapan Buana, gold miner Geomex Sapek, limestone miner Graha Feryni Industri, andesite miner Hasil Bumi Ringgit, gold miner Inti Bumi Sejahtera Mandiri, people?s manganese miners Sepakat I and Sepakat II, gold miner Kuantan Resources, gold miner Makindo Mineral Sakti, rocky quarry mining firm Marsya Regina Merkusi, lead mining firm Mehad Inter Buana, gold and zinc miner Mitra Mandiri Cemerlang, lead miner Miranti Mas Oratama, gold miner Penta Bersama Gemilang, coal miners Thomas Jaya Trecimplant, Triple Eight Energy and Tuah Sakato Membangun Nagari, and metal mining Wirapatriot Sakti.
