Wajo regency to build gas-fired power plant

The local administration of the Wajo regency in South Sulawesi will build a gas-fired power plant in cooperation with a private company to help cope with the power shortage in the regency, Tribuntimur.com reported on Monday.

Wajo?s regent Andi Burhanuddin Unru said on Monday that the local administration-wned company PT Wajo Energi Jaya would cooperate with PT Makmur Mandiri Langgeng in the construction of the power plant which would have capacity of between 20 MW and 30 MW. Meanwhile, Wilson Maknawi, the president director of PT Makmur Mandiri said that his company and Wajo Energi would soon carry out a feasibility study for the construction of the gas-fired power plant, which would occupy a 9.8 hectare area in Patila village, Pammna district.

The power plant is expected to receive gas supply of 5 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) from Energy Equity Epic (Sengkang). (*)
