Wavefield completes 3D processing for Marathon

Norway firm Wavefield and its partner Geotrace have just completed one of the largest 3D onboard processing projects for Marathon in the offshore Pasang Kayu block in Makassar Straits.

The company said the 3,000 sq km project was processed entirely on the vessel using a large compute facility, and delivered to the client 10 days after the final shotpoint. The processing sequence included state of the art processing techniques such as sophisticated noise attenuation techniques, surface related multiple attenuation and radon demultiple.

The rapid delivery of a high quality 3D migrated volume will allow Marathon to make a timely start on their interpretation effort, it said.(alex)
