Weda Bay appoints EVP and COO, expects to complete bankable feasibility study in one year

Weda Bay Minerals Inc. a junior nickel prospector listed in Toronto Stock Exchange recently announced the appointment of John E. Lynch as Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Operating Officer (COO).

According to the release obtained by Petromindo.com, he would be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Weda Bay Minerals.

Key responsibilities will include providing direction and oversight to the technical team preparing the bankable feasibility study and ensure that the study is completed on time and budget. The feasibility study is scheduled to be completed by year-end 2001.

Weda Bay is currently in the process of developing an integrated nickel/cobalt-based industry on Halmahera Island, North Maluku province utilizing high-pressure acid leach technology. Once in full production, the project is expected to supply 10 percent of the world's nickel. (alex)
