Weda Bay Minerals appoints new director

Parsons has recently retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) after a career spanning 34 years. He has specialized skills in taxation within the global metals and minerals industry. Throughout his career, he has assisted major resource groups and the mining industry in general with tax planning, compliance, dispute resolution, tax and fiscal matters. He headed up PWC's global mining practice from 1993 to 1998 and, the Energy and Mining Practice based in Indonesia from 1997 to 2001.
Parsons is an active member of the Board of Directors of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada and currently serves on the Advisory Board of the World Mines Ministries Forum as Vice President. He has served on the Executive Council of the Canadian Minerals Industry Federation, the Advisory Council of the Centre for Resource Studies at Queens University, the Professional Advisory Board of the Government of Canada's Petroleum Monitoring Agency, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Indonesian Mining Association. Parsons has authored two books on Canadian Mining taxation and is a prolific writer of mining and tax related articles.
